Hematology/Oncology Update for the General Pediatric Practitioner

Course material for this pediatric update will include the essential diagnostic tools of:
- the pathophysiology of cytopenias and other common disorders
- knowledge of newer practitioner tests and their interpretations
This course will refresh general pediatric practitioners on their approach to treatment of children with common blood problems, and also provide clear algorithms of basic workups for anemia (and other cytopenias) as well as bleeding and clotting disorders. Practitioners will suggest paradigms for timing of occult malignancy and hematologist/oncologist referral.
